Salles Family
My Dad's parents, Frank Salles and Anna Bettencourt, immigrants from the Azores who came through Ellis Island, met and married in California in 1913..

They had 11 children, though only 9 survived passed past their first year of life.
Frank, Manuel, Bill, Charlie, Lou, & Albert are depicted in the family photo here. Alice, Loretta, and Tony were soon to follow.

Early days on the dairy farm.

McKellar Family
In the southern hemisphere, my Mom's parents, Jorge McKellar and Elvira Villegas, grew up in very different circumstances. They met in Quintero and Santiago, Chile.

Marta was an only child and grew up in Santiago with summers in the beach town of Quintero.
